My excellent space brothers and sisters, let me be the first to thank you all for EVERYTHING you have contributed to this fundraiser for Haitian relief.
It is amazing what we can do when we work together and now we know we’ve touched the lives of each other and those that may not even know what Second Life is.
As you know very well, our Haitian brothers and sisters are in a huge mess right now. Help of all kinds is being summoned from all parts of the globe.
To help out in the way we can, we are performing a special particle show this coming Saturday Jan 23rd, 2010. It starts at 7pm SL time at our Outer Rim location. All donations at the event will go straight to “Food for the Poor” http://www.foodforthepoor.org/
We will be kicking off a month long fundraiser with the show and will carry on with a donation box by the main sign when you TP into Inspire Space Park. We are hoping to collect around 100k Lindens which we will send off at the end of the month long period.
A little info about the charity
“Direct Relief Assistance Helping the Poor in the Caribbean and Latin America
Food For The Poor ministers to spiritually renew impoverished people throughout Latin America and the Caribbean. Established in 1982 as a 501(c)(3) corporation, our goals are to improve the health, economic, social and spiritual conditions of the men, women and children we serve. Food For The Poor raises funds and provides direct relief assistance to the poor, usually by purchasing specifically requested materials and distributing them through the churches and charity organizations already operating in areas of need.”
We will be placing a donation prim at the show and one at Inspire Space Park. All funds collected will be donated and hopefully we’ll all feel we’ve made an impact.
We brought in the new year with a special live particle show at the Evet’s Outer Rim, part of Inspire Space Park http://www.virtuallifemedia.com . Our space park is built in the virtual world of Second Life ®. http://www.secondlife.com
The show started with DJ Grafx Newbold and visual artist Wintter Parx. Following them DJ Earth Primbee and visual artist Tomo Ritt finished out the show.
Here is the result of the machinima I recorded during our show blended with an outstanding song called A-Static by “nuvolino” - Davide Ferri. Special thanks to him for allowing the use of this song.
I hope this reminds you of the experience if you’ve been to one and encourages you to check it out if you have not.
Thanks from all of us at Virtual Life Media for inhabiting our worlds!
