Earth

The ship seemingly adrift..

They moved beyond time. One day a flash, then next a hundred years, on and on. Timelines made meaningless by the control of elements, any time was now, any place was here, and any you, was you.

They slept

They slept like children embraced by the stars. In their bodies they were perfectly asleep waking only in their minds. They are separated from life and death by leaving their bodies in perfect hibernation. Slowing the process of aging by hundreds of years they live in a society you can’t see without electricity.

Inspire Space Park endures

To my most excellent and fascinatingly diverse community members of Second Life®,

Inspire Space Park endures.

Recently there had been some question as to our permanence in this world we live in.

I wish you to know that it shall remain accessible to you not just for our sake but for yours.

I am told that our park has become larger than us few creators. It is said that it has become a place of synchronicity.

In times when the darker side of life moves in to block your view it is important to remember the light. So I consider what light emanates from our park.

Our Inspire Space Park has brought me closer to more people in more places around the world than I would have ever imagined. Most of my experiences  centered around the park have been overwhelmingly positive.

It sprang from a desire to reach into the world bypassing cultural and financial restraints and build something straight from the heart. When I started, I didn’t know what the end result would look like or who would even join me in this quest.

Many friends, of the type you keep for life, sprang up from all corners of the world to be a part of this creative endeavor. Perhaps more amazing, was the number of people who arrived at the park simply to enjoy it.

Though there are many regular guests I have yet to meet, we are all connected through this pixel powered crossroads in time and space.

That very idea is the foundation holding it all together. We have rules and rule breakers but the majority of you need neither rules or rule enforcers. Some cosmic magnet has brought an unprecedented number of like minds to this place and it shows in what I see and hear. Few places in my life have had similar results.

We all have put forth great effort to bring the space park to you and you have shown your appreciation in many wonderful ways.

So with this I assure you that we understand, at least are beginning to fully appreciate, what the space park means in your lives.

For those of you that have gone out of your way to tell us it’s importance to you, we thank you.  It was rough going for awhile and your words went a long way to bring us to our future course.

As much as I hope our place inspires you, so does it inspire us.

Peace be with you all.

A question to the Second Life community from Earth Primbee

It has come to my attention that some in SL feel that we at Inspire Space Park are heavy handed in how we deal with security and that we are actively engaged in hurting and abusing people who come to the space park.

They feel so strongly about this, that they are threatening to destroy the park through a combination of reporting us to the Lindens for abuse, swaying of public opinion against us, and whatever else they can think of to stop us. I can’t tell you how sad this makes me.

Our security staff is entirely made up of volunteers who care enough about the park to help keep the peace. There are mistakes to be sure, people are people, and heated situations can certainly make people act in a way they wouldn’t normally. This is human nature.

However I never imagined that we would subjected to the kind of threats we are now. If I am to believe what I’m being told, we are abusing our power as the creators of this place and everyone is coming to the park afraid of being banned.

After 4 years of providing Inspire Space Park to the people of Second Life I am for the first time considering that maybe we are no longer welcome in SL. If the people of Second Life are feeling that we are a hurtful place of power hungry dictators that must be stopped, I just can’t understand why we would wish to remain.

Is this accurate? Do you feel that you have been abused by security at Inspire Space Park?

Are you afraid to come to the park for fear of being picked on or harassed by our security volunteers?

Some say our rule against people being able to perform particles whenever and however they want is hurting people. We made this rule to help keep the park in a natural setting so the ambient particles of the park would show up and guests that don’t like particles wouldn’t be distrubed. We even provided a seperate place with a platform for people to go to if they wanted to blast particles to our music. Is this too heavy handed? Are we going to far?

I’m shocked that we could be perceived as abusive dictorial rulers of a place that we created, on our land, that we pay for. If I take what I’ve been told to heart, we have no rights to set rules on our land and are being abusive with our bannings.

What do you say people of Second life? If it is the truth I’d like to hear it. If not, please let me know that too.

We have some very fundamental decisions to make depending on the outcome of this information.

I’ve added the rules here for your review. Are these rules too tough for a PG location?
